Werewolf

Forgive me, I will try to keep this brief but I have a tendency to be very... descriptive, when I'm writing. In short, my main computer stopped working at the start of the year. I've been using my boyfriend's computer to make music but have no sample packs, only some plugins. For my entry, I decided to use only samples provided in the pack. The more interesting results of this limitation are the screamer/yowl during the drop, made using a sample of the "Noise" bass line processed using Vital, and while the snare during the drop is a raw sample, I particularly didn't think any of them hit hard enough for the direction the song went and I decided to try some sound design and layered over the snare with a heavily processed version of one of the cowbells provided in the pack using Serum, adding a little more punch to the snare. Everything else is pretty standard, some slight processing here and there. And fearing this limitation would draw the listening away, I recorded my own vocals. I'm not a lyricist (which surely will be evident upon listening) but I quickly cooked up some intense-sounding lyrics I felt fit the vibe, and sang them in a style I don't normally sing, because I don't know how to do it safely entirely, and tore my throat a little bit trying to do, but it was worth it because I enjoy how it turned out. The vocals and werewolf growls and howls are all my vocals. There's a vocal clip from the pack nestled into the builds in the song to add more excitement. A longer description is available on the SoundCloud page. Oh, I can add line breaks, cool. I want to add that I know I'm cutting it close for my entry. The song has actually been finished for over a week now, I think more. The werewolf in the attached image was drawn by me (not that background, that's post). I'm not the strongest visual artist, but I don't have money to commission an artist and I couldn't figure out how to get AI gens to not look horrendous, so I settled on, first learning how to draw a werewolf because I've never drawn one before, then deciding to draw the werewolf for the album cover. He's drawn traditionally, with the background removed and superimposed into an AI-generated background. It took an embarrassing amount of time to draw that, I'll admit. (And, uh... I'll also admit I drew his shorts separately and placed them over the image to take the picture. I've been practically artistic nudity and didn't think about that until it was too late.)
