To Bigger Dreams

The most important thing to me was making sure the elements of this track were recognizable by the Cymatics team, so 99% of what we are listening to comes from the Solstice Beta Pack with the only exception being the risers used for transitions. I was drawn to the piano samples, and as a pianist myself, I wanted to keep the integrity of the sample by not over-processing them and building the song around it. The use of two vocal samples were used to give it an "artist feat. another artist" kind of feel. While exclusively using Solstice sounds, my hopes were that it would be familiar with a creative twist that reflects my style, musicianship, and taste. This contest was an awesome opportunity to see if my music production journey that started at the beginning of quarantine can actually stand up against other pieces of work. Although I might not win, this project made me feel like I got what it takes. Thanks for the opportunity and for providing the tools over the last few years that allowed me to reach this level. -J
