The song is intended to inspire the people of America. To make awareness of our trapped minds. The first verse speaks about the people as a whole and the government. The second verse is white people talking to blacks about not all white people being racist and that it took white and black people working together in order for blacks to be equal. The third verse is a black speaking to blacks about the black lives matter movement, a movement that makes absolutely no sense because black people are killing black people more than any other race on the planet.
